NSHighlightRect is dead ?

Hello,

Does anyone know if NSHighlightRect does anything when called ? I want to be able to drag a selection rectangle around from an anchor point and have the highlighting reflect the size of the rect area being rubberbanded. I though that NSHighlightRect was supposed to do that but it seems it was deprecated ? Is there a substitute for the call. When I call it, it doesn't seem to do anything. Anybody else seen this behavior ?

Thanks in advance for any info.
Regards,
Bob M.
