Docs on Cocoa Networking?

Hi,

I am looking for some good documentation/starters/sample code on networking in Cocoa (not inter-application/thread but networking over the web). Are there APIs for setting up a connection between 2 Cocoa apps over the web for communication? I'm sorry if the ADC site has all this info. The site is slowed down right now and I can't seem to view it.
