Cocoa & C++ Protected Member Functions

Hi, List!

I'm trying to use Cocoa to do some quick visualization of platform-generic
ISO C++ code I'm working on. To do this (cleanly), I need access to the C++
class' protected member functions.

Anyone got any clue how to declare an objective-c++ class as a friend class
of a c++ class? Possible, or am I foolishly deluding myself?

Things are complicated slightly by the fact that the C++ code lives inside
of a namespace, while the Cocoa code doesn't.

Here's the scenario:
Cocoa code #includes C++ header
C++ header forward-declares the Cocoa class (problem, is it
forward-defined as a struct, a class, what?)
C++ header declares the Cocoa class as a friend
Cocoa class has as an ivar a pointer to the C++ class

Thanks in advance!
