I'll just kind of throw my two pennies in with this: if you want to get
a Cocoa book, and you're holding O'Reilly's Cocoa Programming with Mac
OS X and Aaron Hillegass's Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X... put down
the O'Reilly book. My reasoning: sure, it's great to know how Mac OS X
works, but do you need to spend a chapter and a half on it (maybe
longer)? There are also a lot fewer examples, from what I can tell, as
well as no alternatives to the examples they give. Example: in the
single tutorial that explains how to save files, there is zero
explanation of how to save any OTHER kind of file: i.e., a plain RTF,
an image, etc. Hillegass at least hints at this, if not pointing you
to a proper place.
Again, just my opinion - please, no flames. :)
Cheers,
Phil
