I don't know if this has been suggested.
What about using the CocoaDev WIKI for this? I just created this page:
http://www.cocoadev.com/index.pl?CocoaCommunity (with a little starter
text promoting the Chicago group ;-)
"I hope this page can become a resource page for locating Cocoa groups
and/or people in your locale interested in getting together.
In Chicago, the WebObjects group expanded to embrace Cocoa developers
too (since lots of us were old NeXT developers and really enjoy Cocoa
work, but WO pays the bills). I think that this page could be a
central contact place for listing user groups. Please add your groups
here:
----
Existing Groups
CAWUG - Chicago Cocoa & WebObjects User Group
http://cawug.webfarm.com/ (if you're nearby, please feel free to join
our low volume mailing list).
-----
Locations Looking for groups (i.e. Los Angeles email@hidden),
please add your info down here."
-Bob
PS: some one was asking about Michigan. SEMIWUG (S.E. Mi WO User
Group) lives in Ann Arbor, and I'm sure they would welcome Cocoa folks
too.

This may be getting out of hand, but what the hell: anyone out there
in SE Michigan who would like to get together? I can supply dinner
and drinks--even cocoa; and yes, I am a good cook! Reply off-list and
maybe we can get something going.
