The MacOS X system is to have the default on the right. Having the
default not on the right would make the interface look more like
windows in my opinion, and I'm pretty sure it's against the HIG.

This is copied verbatim from page 148 of the Aqua Human Interface
Guidlines: "The default button for dismissing a dialog should go in
the lower-right corner."
The excerpt goes on with: "If there is a Cancel button, it should be to
the left of the default button".
I looked at the old HIG - the printed one - and when Cancel was a
default button it was still on the left of the OK button.
Looks like the best idea is to avoid having to put Cancel as the
default button.
