The question is where exactly to put the final if

condition to display the main window?
You should create a custom action eg - (IBAction)
showTheRealyMainWindow:(id)sender; launched by a button. The action should
load a nib file or display the main window of the main nib file. You could
also put a custom notification in this action, but it is more complicated.
If you see any window, it means the application did finish launching, it
does not matter what is the purpose of the window.
It seems you are newbie to Cocoa. I suggest to read the book "Cocoa
programming for MacOS X" by A.Hillegass. I bought, read form the begining to
the very end and now I have no problems with writing simple applications.
Really good. In this book you'll find easy answer how to load a nib file or
use a notification.
