Does anyone on the list know how the Finder is able to display a "preview" of a document. I've searched everywhere I know to search for the answer. I'm just wondering if this is a system service that I can access or if the finder is generating the previews on the fly (and if so, how?).

I'm fairly new to the platform and I know I'm probably just missing something obvious or basic.

Thanks for the help,

-gtc
