From what I can quickly read in this documentation (which is buggy as the link: http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/macosx/CoreTechnologies/ securityservices/authservices.html does not exist), I don't see anything done that is strictly not recommended by the documentation.

The use of an helper tool is interesting if you're 'interested' by the result of the command you're running under privilege and to be informed when the command finished its tasks.

In my case, I'm checking the result by another mean.
