I have just jumped into 10.2 and added the use of
archivedDataWithRootObject to a Cocoa-Java Document App to support
saving. It appears that the method is deprecated (given that I
receive a warning during compile), however there is no mention in the
Java-Cocoa doc. I can't see a good alternative and with no
documentation recommendation, it seems like this might be a bug in the
Java framework bridge code.
Being new to the mailing list, please excuse me if this has already
been discovered and addressed -- I found nothing appropriate in the
archive last night.
Perhaps it has been deprecated in favour of the keyed archiving method
(new in 10.2, see the Foundation release notes)?
