I'm writing a program that has to deal with passwords for mail accounts and I was thinking about how I should have the program
know when the password came from a keychain and when it was entered and had to be saved in one. I fired up the
Keychain Access utility for the first time to wipe out my chains to test my code. I was surprised to find the "Show passphrase"
checkbox for my iTools account enabled by default (assuming there is a pref to disable it.) I had thought about how handy a similar
feature would be in my code but dismissed the idea thinking people would not like it that someone could walk up to their machine
and see their external account passwords. Yet here I see it in a system utility. So it isn't a bad idea?
