I've applied the solution from Nicholas Riley (thanks again), using LSGetApplicationForURL, giving mailto: or http: which I like a lot.
This is perfect for 'protocol' request when coupled with the 'More Internet' panel: this way you can call the 'aim:' client and it will call Fire or Proteus.

Your solution is very good for 'file' request when you need 'txt', or 'jpg' which can be quite useful too.

Thanks

You could try using the file types instead, 'ilht' for web page, 'ilma' for mail.

It works for "html" but not for "webloc" or "mailloc". So I do not know yet how to get the mail client. Any other suggestion ?
