*very* simple AppleScriptable demo?

I'm looking for a bare-bones, core text suite only example of allowing applescript to set a value in my application.

I'm swimming in the scriptSuite, scriptTerminology, appleEvent, etc stuff....

Anyone have a dummy project that does something as simple as open a window with a text view/field in it, and allow an applescript to set that value?

Thanks so much,

Steve
