Effects of editing Info.plist

  • Subject: Effects of editing Info.plist

Hello all,

Is it possible for me to edit the Info.plist file of an app, after it has been compiled? For instance, the problem I'm having is that if I open the app package in the Finder, and open Info.plist in the Property List Editor application, and change a key in the file (not delete one or add one), the application no longer recognizes that it is supposed to accept files dragged on top of its icon to open it. The keys I edited were not related to opening files, they were keys I added to the file before I compiled it. Immediately after compilation, I had no problem with dragging files on top of the app icon to open them, but after editing the plist, it no longer works. Can anyone shed some light on this? Why does this suddenly start misbehaving?

TIA,

Clark
