I can't argue against the effectiveness of this, but I would like to
point out that end users often have a perfectly legitimate need to pass
a license from one machine to another: hardware upgrades. Having to
relicense software after buying a new computer is an inconvenience.
Also, many users - myself included - consider the installation of an
application on multiple machines to be "fair use," so long as I'm the
only user, and only one copy of it is in use at a time. When I buy a CD,
I'm legally able to listen to it on any player that I own; I see no
particular reason why software should be treated differently.

I personally don't like this. Not because I'm doing anything illegal,
but I simply abhor the idea of software doing something (especially
communicating with the outside world) without my invocation.
I assume that the email would be sent via the default email app, with a
ready-to-send message opening up so that the end user can just click
"send," rather than "on the sly." My objection to it would be more of a
practical matter: it requires an active internet connection. I suppose
if your app is an internet client that would require an active
connection anyway, that's acceptable, but for most apps it shouldn't be
a requirement.
