Gang,
I9m looking to make a simple app that will take any files dragged onto

allow it
to toss locked files -- unless any of you know how to get the Finder
to do
this? I searched, tried all sorts of stuff, asked around but to no

So far as I can tell, you don't even need to hold down the Option key
to empty a locked item in Jaguar - the Trash seems to be able to delete
everything in it, every time, no matter what. Even chowning the file to
root:wheel and chmodding the file to 000 doesn't stop the Trash from
dutifully zapping it when I choose Empty Trash.
To be honest, I have no idea how it's doing this. My best guess is that
it's having coreservicesd or SecurityServer or some other daemon that's
running as root delete the files. I just hope it's not something that
could be exploited...
