Hmm... What if his app is a utility that is designed to:
1) restart the computer every N days just to have a fresh start; or
2) is a remote reboot tool; or
3) is a "choose a different version of the os" and the computer instantly
reboots into that version; or
4) does something similar to conflict catcher did in os9; or
5) detects when the system is hosed and auto restarts...
And so on...
I agree that we should all follow the very well thought out and basically
wise guidelines that Apple and we all collectively have devised over the
years. But I also feel there is room, appropriate room, for certain kinds
of utility/entertainment products to bend the rules and sometimes even break
from the paradigm. It just shouldn't be done lightly...
