Well, they actually are compressed, but flate compression is close
enough to uncompressed for photographic images that it doesn't make

When an image is already JPEG compressed it should be embedded as such.
How can I force Quartz to directly embed JPEG compressed images in
a PDF file?
AFAIK, you can't. That's why I wrote PdfCompress.
Come on Apple, give us some more control over PDF generation.
