Hi Dave,

I'm just wondering if it's somehow possible to get the NSRegistrationDomain for an application other than the one currently running.

I know that you can get the NSRegistrationDomain for the current application (your application) like this:

[[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]
volatileDomainForName:NSRegistrationDomain];

Is there some way to attach to another running application and get its NSRegistrationDomain? I've looked through both the NSUserDefaults API and the CoreFoundation CFPreferences API and I don't see any way of doing it. Does anyone know if it's possible?

This isn't possible with either API - you'd have to have your target application tell you its registration domain using some sort of IPC.

This really isn't something that -should- be of interest to another application, but now you've got me curious - just what is it that you're interested in? :)
