I want my application to detect a Screensaver launch.

Does anyone have a clue how to do this properly ?

Last time I was asked, I was told to periodically call sysctl() to detect whether a Unix application named "screensaverengin" (no "e" at the end) was running. In my case that worked, because my app had to periodically do something anyway.

Not sure whether there's an "official" way by now.
