[ANN] myPDA 3.1a3 - a Cocoa/GNUstep system for the Sharp Zaurus Linux series

Dear all Cocoa and Zaurus developers out there,

I would like to draw your attention to our projects "myPDA" and "mySTEP", which
aim at making a (small scale) system for the Sharp Zaurus Linux PDAs that is
compatible to a great extent to the Mac, so that developing, porting and data
exchange becomes natural.

The system consists of several parts:
a) mySTEP:
a Foundation and AppKit library for the Zaurus based on mGstep (by Felipe
A. Rodriguez) which is a clone of GNUstep and uses the X system as a
display backend
b) myPDA:
is the runtime environment for applications (i.e. together with the Linux kernel
the "Jaguar" for the Zaurus).
It includes an X server and the mlvwm window manager plus a launcher
icon to start from the standard Zaurus user interface.
c) Zaurus-X-gcc - the gcc 2.95.3 configured as a cross compiler (Thanks to
Andreas Junghans).
This integrates with the Project Builder tools. So you can set up Project Builder with a
makefile to create .app bundles having not only the PowerPC executable but
also one for ARM/Linux (i.e. the Zaurus).
There is also a tool called nib2gmodel to convert the Interface Builder nib files
to gmodel files required by the GNU system.

The status is "alpha" (one could even say "concept demontrator") but if you
have a Zaurus with ROM 3.10 you should be able to install and visit the
Testing applications.
Note, that the current version 1.0 of mySTEP has some troubles with the XML
based property lists (i.e. Info.plist), so cross compilation is a little limited.
