obj-c/java, which is better and why?

  • Subject: obj-c/java, which is better and why?

Greetings all...

I'm writing to both lists, to see what different points of view I'll get.

I understand that Obj-C is the most used language for Cocoa, followed not too far behind by Java (by all means correct me if I'm wrong here).

What are the advantages and disadvantages of each of objective-C and java with cocoa. Why choose one over the other?

Is either harder to learn than the other? Is it just that some of you already knew java so you stuck with that, and some of you knew obj-c or something like it and so you stuck with that? Or are there significant other reasons why sometimes you'd use one over the other?

Any and all opinions most welcome.

Thanks!
David.
