'custom localized folders' - I want to create a folder that is
localized when it is displayed in the Finder, just like the

(Localizing Directory Names) does not work. In fact, the extension
".localized" is shown although it is set hidden.
Stefan,
it works fine for me. Of course, I had to turn off "always show
extension" in the Finder Preferences for it to actually show.
Apparently, this is different from application packages, which always
hide their suffix, no matter what that setting is. I'd suggest you
file a bug report against this problem to show Apple that there's
interest in localized folder names.
