first responder in a NSTabView

i have an NSTabView with many NSTextFields on each
tab.
i'm trying to:
when switching tab, let a particular NSTextField on
the "current" tab get focus.
after searching docs, i found till now i can neither
detect NSTabView 's tab switching as event or ask a
certain control to "get focus"... any ideas? thanks
