AOL Service over Broadband - network problems for applications?

  • Subject: AOL Service over Broadband - network problems for applications?

A common setup seems to be RoadRunner Internet connection, with AOL service on top. Can anybody enlighten me as to what AOL's service actually is? Is it some kind of VPN service now?

I ask because I hear some software cannot access the Internet once the AOL service is enabled, while other software can. Anybody have any tips?

Thanks.
Simon
