Localizing currencies?

Is there anything that one supposed to do to allow localization of currency? For instance, I have "dollar" fields in NSTableViews that I would like to show as "francs" if French is the language, etc? I am quite familiar with the localization of strings, but am not quite sure how to handle currencies.
