A clarification on who can use mySQL (or other GPL software):
Note that there is no restriction (or imposed requirements) on the use of
GPL software in a program that is not distributed outside of the company
where it is developed. Thus GPL software (e.g. mySQL) can be used for any
in-house development if desired.
