Yeah Mulle ain't dead yet... We did beat the calendar and did manage to produce two new articles in the Objective-C Optimization series - in 2003!


If you liked the previous stuff, you'll love these :)

#3.1 is just an application of stuff found in article 3, useful in circumstances when you can't cache the IMP.

#9 is more of an academic treatment, diving into the runtime and objc_msgSend and optimizing it for the PPC. Might be interesting, even if you don't like RISC assembler and can't use the results immediately.

Both techniques together would yield something like 30% faster messaging of your regular non-optimized Objective-C code.
