Are you aware of any plans to extend CMM support to Cocoa?

I know that this is done via the
Contextual Menu Manager in Carbon, but surely there is some way in
Cocoa to do this?
No. The CMM is the way to go. See Menus.h near the bottom, IIRC.
Apple's SampleCMPlugIn is at
http://developer.apple.com/samplecode/Sample_Code/
Human_Interface_Toolbox/Mac_OS_High_Level_Toolbox/SampleCMPlugIn.htm.
Tomasz Kukielka's Contextual Menu Workshop is at
http://free.abracode.com/cmworkshop/.
Read
http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/macosx/Essentials/CarbonCocoaDoc/
index.html if you want to do some Cocoa stuff in the CMM.
If you are interested, I have a nice C file that I can send you that
will help you get started.
