Hi Matt,
Thank you very much for the update. The docs are such an important
resource.
I was curious if there were plans to better integrate them with Project
Builder. It's easy enough to look up things through various methods
but I've started getting used to things like what javadocs might start
to promise. Ever use Intellij Idea? It's so easy to code complete,
see what options are possible with whatever object or function you're
using, and even look up docs.. and it seems it could get even better.
I'm aware of class browsing within PB but might it be possible for
things like the browser to filter or follow object accessors and
methods with whatever I'm typing? So it could show only methods for
the object at my cursor point. Or maybe there could be an optional
window panel that would show the docs for the method at my cursor or
I'm browsing?
Development is great with PB and IB but it seems more integration could
be possible. I liked Idea very much since use alone
helped me learn how to program in java through the act of programing
itself. Isn't that how programming should be?

I'm pleased to announce that we have just pushed out an update of the
Cocoa HTML documentation to the developer.apple.com website. As noted
in the Site Updates document, here's what's new:
January 2003
This release of the Cocoa reference documentation is the first release
through a new publishing mechanism. The change-over to the new
mechanism has allowed us to add some important functionality to the
Cocoa API reference: types in declarations that have documentation are
now hyperlinked, so you can go straight to the documentation for
parameter or return types. The change-over has also resulted in some
minor cosmetic changes, some of which are intended, some of which will
be fixed in future releases.
All reference material in HTML has been updated. In particular:
* The userInfo information for all notifications has been rationalized
and verified.
* All topics now contain Revision History information, which will
track changes going forward.
* Over seventy bug fixes have been incorporated.
The PDF files have not been updated at this time. Please consult this
list of reference content bugs fixed in the HTML but not yet available
in the PDF.
Core Foundation [NEW]
Core Foundation Programming Topics bring together information of
various types that pertain to specific programming goals. Topics are
grouped into the general categories of Core Foundation Architecture,
Data Management, Events and Other Input, and Resource and Process
Management, with several topics in each category.
Core Foundation API Reference [NEW]
Core Foundation API Reference documents the functions, data types, and
constants provided by the Core Foundation framework. Its presentation
has been redesigned from the previous CarbonLib version and it has
been updated to document all symbols available in Mac OS X up to
version 10.2.
We hope that you will find the new links for parameter and return
types especially useful. Specifically, it is my fond hope that I will
never again see a bug claiming that we have no documentation for the
Objective-C version of NSRect or NSPoint! :) Share and enjoy, and
please feel free to send us feedback.
