Text field cell plus menu?

Is there a good example on how to implement a text field cell (for use
in a table view) that has an attached pop up button menu? I can't seem
to find anything in the archives, and have seen only an NSOutlineView
example (with pictures, rather than a menu) in the developer examples.
I'd use two columns, but this would look much better in a single one,
since it will represent a quantity of a substance and the units of
quantity.
