Connect to a remote volume as root

  • Subject: Connect to a remote volume as root

Hi,
I have to connect to a remote volume as user "root".
I choose the Finder command "Connect To Server".
Then I select a Server, and the system asks to log in as an user.
If I try to connect as "john" (who is an administrator) I can do. I see the
available volumes list, I choose a volume and it appears on my desktop.
If I try to connect as "root" I can't. I got a message as "User Unknown".
Please note that I can log in both the machine as "root" properly.

Then I launched the "NetInfo Manager" utility and I set
/config/AppleFileServer/allow_root_login to 1.
It was zero.
So when I tried again to connect as root, the user "root" has been accepted
but just after, the system asked to me to select a volume from an *empty*
list of volumes...

How should I do?
