Languages don't help anyone's risumi a quarter as much as shipping products do.
You're more likely to be painting yourself into a corner -- in terms
of your ability to deliver, not your risumi -- by not taking the time
to learn ANSI C first. You really do need be reasonably proficient
with ANSI C in order to be a proficient Objective-C and Cocoa
developer.
