That is pretty sloppy programming, in my opinion. But, then again, it's not really surprising in these times from Apple. If this was 10 years ago, it would've been shocking...

anyways, to get back on topic somewhat, this is really a problem that should be addressed by Apple. Put a minimum system version value in the Info.plist, and the Finder can check this value and throw up an appropriate dialog box. But, in reality, this should've been in 10.0, not something new in 10.2.5 or later.
