I think I chose poor wording there. What I meant was more like:
Address Book is given as an example in the HIG of an application that
"manages data shared with digital peripherals."
Safari is also an application that "manages data shared with digital
peripherals." Remember that Safari doesn't interact with *Address Book*,
the application. Instead, both Safari and the Address book interact with
the built-in address database, which contains "data shared with digital
peripherals."
It's a stretch (particularly with regards to the definition of "manages" :),
but given a good lawyer, it'd squeak by... :)
