Contextual Menu for iTunes

I'm trying to figure out a way to add a contextual menu to iTunes that would return to me the currently selected items in the play list. I have looked through the Contextual Menu Workshop and it is still not clear to me if I can add a CMM to iTunes. All the examples are utilizing the finder since I guess it loads plugins. My guess is that iTunes does not do this.

I have also looked into using APE from unsanity but again it is unclear to me if this would give me the functionality to add a contextual menu. Also the licensing would probably be prohibitive since this is for a commercial app but this little piece is really just a convenience and not a major part of what the application is about.

I do realize that I could do this with an applescript that would be added to the script menu in iTunes but my heart is really set on a contextual menu.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Mark
