NSMovieView beeping on keyboard controls

Hello,
I have an NSMovieView in an application I'm currently working on, and using its keyboard controls (space for play/pause, arrow keys for stepping, et al.) causes the program to beep. The controls work fine, so it's not as though the movie view isn't catching them. Is there a way I can prevent the beep from occurring?
