Interfacing with the Real Player or Windows Media?

Has anyone seen an elegant way to interface with either the OS X RealPlayer or Windows Media Player (yes, I'd rather just use Quicktime, but this app needs support for streaming from the windows media and real player formats)? Are these apps supporting any AppleScript?
