Some other thought on this point:
If Apple has not enough time to handle the calls or too much (probably
unspecific) calls
are generated by people, how about some developer-managed public
bugreporter.
I mean something like an open source project driven by developer
community
that allows to submit reports in the same form as Apple's bugreporter
uses.
Then someone/somemany can check the bugreports and probably check these
against
whatever.
If a report is identified as new -> submit it (via program) to apple
directly.
If a report is identified as not new or of ther kind -> contact sender
or some mailing list.
Probably pre-qualified reports get handled faster by apple.
Just an idea. Please down flame me, if you think this is nonsense ;-)
BTW: Regarding my reports, replies come from within 4 days to 1 month.
