For some reason, my progress bar will never show up if I [progressBar setDisplayedWhenStopped:NO]; in awakeFromNib. But if I leave it initially visible and then use [progressBar setDisplayedWhenStopped:NO]; later when I begin the process it works correctly, showing and hiding when it should.

Is there some known issue like this?

If I do it in both places it works correctly. Why is that? It seems that the nib file's Displayed When Stopped doesn't work at all.
