Hello Jim,
I'm probably not the best person to ask since I wrote the book, but I
can answer any specific questions you may have about the content.
There is a sample chapter online that you can view via the book's web
site (listed below). I can tell you that my goal was to put together a
book of useful examples that w large number of developers could benefit
from. I'm a firm believer in learning by example and then extending on
what you learn. The chapters in the book are exactly for that purpose
and I think provide a solid foundation on which to create new projects.
