This seems to be a tradition here.
I've just posted the first public beta of A Cook's Books. The program
is a recipe management tool with several features a cook might find
helpful (I actually wrote it for me, I like to cook). It can be found at
http://www.3caam.com.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of this list
for their help. It was positively uncanny how often I would get stuck
on something and someone would ask the very question I was getting
ready to post. In particular, the lengthy discussion about registration
strategies was invaluable. I actually solved most of my problems by
researching the archives at Mamasam. Trust me, I was in a panic when
the site disappeared for a day or two a few months back. Many thanks to
the folks that run that site. I also want to thank Eric Ocean for
bailing me out when I had no clue why something wasn't working. Lastly,
I want to thank the engineers at Apple (and those formerly at NeXT) for
this great language and development environment. I program for a living
in RPG (a 50's era procedural language). I used C to spell cats. Yet,
here I am with a fully functional Cocoa program, that doesn't leak
(much), I'm not ashamed to show around. That has far less to do with my
talent, than it does with the talent assembled at Apple.
