I'd guess mDNSResponder (in /System/Library/StartupItems).
mDNSResponder is the daemon that provides Rendezvous services. I
haven't done it myself, but I would guess that if you're advertising a
service with NSNetService, you probably want mDNSResponder to be up
before your program runs.
