In Project Builder, there seem to be a million ways to open a source

They don't work the way I expect. I keep getting what seem like
obsolete
versions of my source. I also don't know how to change the contents of
the
project window (I guess that's what you call the one with all the
tabs).
It seems like when I click on the thing with my file name in the pane
on
the left with the 'Files' tab selected, I get the right thing. But
what are
all those file names in the popup in the pinstripe bar just above the
source code in that self-same, absurdly cluttered window? There are
duplicate names.
Duplicate names? Only means one thing: multiple files with the same
name, in my experience. If you have two projects open ... ? Anyway,
those are just a record of files you've opened with that project.
View->Clear File History to make them go away.
Then there's the windows menu. It has lots of duplicate names too. How
do I
know which is the latest?
Again, multiple files with same name? Otherwise it's never happened to
me...
Am I the only one with these problems?

We've heard that a million monkeys at a million keyboards could produce
the Complete Works of Shakespeare; now, thanks to the Internet, we know
this is not true.
