I am so sorry for all of what I created with all those apologies and
everything to people trying to avoid a flame war of some sort. Let my
clarify my situation:
I am but an average mac user (studying java and VB in school but not at
all /*rdy to prgrm
like some of you. I followed the progress of one sourceforge program
called Soleseek.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/soleseek/
A developer (named Eli to most) started the project but then realized
he could not spend much more time on it, so a couple of other
interested programmers took up the task of continuing the code...
however, none of them were very dedicated (I don't mean to be
complaining at all, just stating facts). The project has since been
left idle in it's current state. Eli has been VERY helpful with
developers wanting to help out or even take over the project.
Morality: I do not at all intend to steal music... i am a musician and
I find soulseek was an excellent way to share my music with potential
fans... I have an old PC that runs the windows version well but my HD
is way too small there... I want to share as much as I can with a
community that grows by itself. Soulseek was never about the backstreet
boys or Britney spears or anything with tons of cash... Most people
haven't even heard of the system due to it's unpopular content...
Soulseek became what Napster was meant to be... an revolutionary way to
distribute new content.
That aside... there is a java soulseek in the works (although painfully
slow). and well... java isn't cocoa... Cocoa I find is awesome! I'd so
love to be able to do the shit you guys do pardon my language...
Anyways... this really was intended to be a little cry for help....
this soleseek app was supposedly almost finished... it was never
released as beta or anything compiled... It requires some basic
netowrking and I guess GUI. Hey teach me cocoa and I'll do it myself!
No need to reply to the list with this... if you want more info. email
me email@hidden
I come in peace?
Sincerely Michael Schmid
