Yeah, it's off-topic...

...but what I'll write below will look like gold to you, that's why I
decided to answer you (I remember the 140dB-loud scream of joy that came out
of my mouth when I found it out....)

There's in fact a great porting of MIDP for OSX here:

With X11 from apple you'll get the emulator up and running in 1 minute....

And no. You don't need linux... :-)
