Multi-texturing basics

Hey everyone,
I've finally implemented textures in my OpenGL App. so right now, i do a single texture per surface, i was wondering if and how i could pull off multi-texturing(per surface) ? i know how to load and set up multiple textures, but i dont know how to throw a surface onto the screen with more than one texture on it's surface. Any help/tutorials would be great.
Thanks,
Aaron.
