I used to use JBuilder and I loved this feature (except this was on a
200 Mhz PC running Windows 2000 in java, so it was God awfully slow).
Oddly enough, when I moved to a project that wasn't done in JBuilder
and I used X-Emacs, I never missed the feature. In the end I wound up
learning the JDK well enough that I don't even miss the feature.
Combine this with the fact the Java Browser in OS X lets you see not
only the method names but the documentation and the source code makes
the code completion not something I would demand.
That being said, I can't think of any reason to _not_ support this
feature, just as long as its fast and context sensitive, and can be
turned off. If its slow its practically useless.

Perhaps I'm just weird, but I like PB precisely because it does
*not* have that kind of hand-holding. I do understand, though, that
quite a few folks do like it. I only hope that, when or if Apple
decides to add these features, they also include a way to turn them
off.
Oh... I just disagree! :)
This feature is just one of the best in Eclipse. There simply is no
better way to have a look at the documentation (javadoc in this case)
that is displayed as you look at the methods of some object.
Disabling it is easy. Just type fast enough.. :)
