The one exception I know of was a product called Galaxy from Visix. I
know one of their ex-engineers. Sadly, the licensing for Galaxy was
murderous and the people running the place drove the company into the
ground years ago.
BTW, an interesting flip side to the first case above is Metrowerks
PowerPlant, which makes a framework that creates windows programs that
function in a more Mac like way - and I've seen Windows programmers say
they don't like Metrowerks IDE (written using powerplant) BECAUSE of
that - it's not "windows like".
Amen. I started using CodeWarrior with Bronze 5 and was very satisfied
with the environment. The Be-hosted version was similarly gratifying.
When the Windows version came out I was only too happy to give it a
try. Sent mail off to MW within 10 minutes, complaining that it was too
Mac-like. It was exactly what I was familiar with from Mac OS, but when
I sit down at a Windows machine I expect to interact with Windows apps
and the early Windows builds of CW were just too jarring.
