I use a TiBook 800 MHz, and normally (when it's sitting on my
desk) it's connected to a 19" monitor and an ergonomic kbd and
mouse. So, the answer is yes. I have my desk configured so that
I can "jack in" my TiBook and get a lot of screen real-estate
and a fullsize keyboard and mouse. When I want to take it offsite
for a demo or just to the back yard for some quiet time, the 15"
screen is fine.

When Panther will be released can i update to it?

That probably depends on the machine you buy and the upgrade paths
offered for Jaguar -> Panther.
